How to recover file from shortcut virus

Sometimes your USB flash drive may get infected with some virus due to which all the file become shortcut or missing from your pendrive/ harddrive although both of these virus infection are now quite old these days, but still a great concern and suffer for the common computer user.

Some people which is lack of computer knowledge will choose to format the flash drive and sad plus regret that those files are not backed up. Follow the procedure below to recover the files and folder which are actually hidden and not visible to you:

1) Clean all the virus inside your Pendrive and your computer

2) Change the attribute of your hidden file

Click on Start >> Run >> type cmd and click on ENTER. Here we assume your pendrive letter as f: To know your pendrive letter, open mycomputer and observe yourself:

Enter this command written below.

attrib -h -r -s /s /d f:\*.*

Note: You can copy the above command –> Right-click in the Command Prompt and paste it.

Note: if your drive letter is other than F, replace the f with other letter.

3) Check your directory

Now check for your files in Pen Drive, you should see the files on your USB pen drive now.
